The freedom to vote depends on our ability to make decisions based on accurate information about both the voting process & the candidates/issues, free from emotional manipulation designed to cloud our judgment or discourage us from voting.

Disinformation about the election process can also lead to suppressive laws that are passed in reaction to these false beliefs. Public anger arising from disinfo about elections can also intimidate people from becoming involved with elections as volunteers, poll workers, or election officials.
